At the last census, six in ten of the suburb's 6,257 dwellings were flats or apartments, with detached houses a shrinking minority. That mix shapes what our Nundah plumbers see most weeks: stacked-bathroom leaks in the unit blocks, and ageing galvanised runs in the worker's cottages on the ridge.

What a Queensland Plumbing Licence Covers

Queensland splits plumbing and drainage licensing in two. The person on the tools holds an occupational licence, and the company taking the job on holds a contractor licence as well. The QBCC grants both.

Each layer proves something different:

  1. Occupational licence

the holder has the skills for the work.

  2. Contractor licence

the business has the financial capacity and the training to run jobs.

  3. Gas work licence

gas sits apart, on a licence of its own.

A plumber's scope runs to the plumbing side of a property, and a drainer's runs to the below-ground drainage. Either licence excludes anything needing its own endorsement.

How Plumbing Work Is Regulated in Queensland

Oversight divides between two bodies: the QBCC looks after licensing and the notifiable work register, while the local government assesses permit applications and inspects the work. Regulated jobs sort into three buckets: permit work, notifiable work and minor work. A licensed tradesperson must carry out each one.

The paperwork reaches you two ways:

  1. Form 4

after notifiable work, whoever engaged us receives a Form 4 copy, and the QBCC keeps it searchable by address on its online register.

  2. Gas compliance certificate

once we finish a new gas installation or an alteration, you receive the gas system compliance certificate straight away. Where the system is fed by a gas network, a copy goes to the network operator within 5 days.

The QBCC's own guidance is that licensed trades protect the home, the owner's health and the owner's rights. That is the standard we work to on every job.

What You Can Expect When We Visit

  1. 1

    You tell us the fault

Ring (07) 3524 7137 or use the form and describe what is going on. A few details up front mean the right gear comes on the first trip.

  2. 2

    We diagnose and quote

We check the fixture, the pipe or the drain on the spot and find the cause. You get a fixed quote before any work starts, with flat-rate pricing and no hidden fees.

  3. 3

We do the work and test it

A licensed plumber carries out the repair or installation, then tests the fixture before we call the job finished. Nothing gets signed off untested.

  4. 4

You settle up and get the paperwork

Card and EFTPOS payment on site when the job's done, or Fix now, pay later if that suits you better. Any Form 4 or gas certificate goes to you on the day.

Questions Our Customers Ask

Call (07) 3524 7137

What is the difference between a plumber and a drainer?

A plumber's licence runs to the plumbing side of a property, while a drainer's runs to drainage below ground. Queensland grants each trade its own occupational licence, and we carry both classes.

Does gas work in a Nundah home need a separate licence?

Yes, Queensland reserves every gas job for licensed gasfitters, from installing a system through to certifying it. Ask to see the gas work licence before the job begins.

Who inspects plumbing work in a Nundah home?

The City of Brisbane issues the permits and runs the inspections, and you can ask the council to check notifiable work at any stage. The QBCC sits above that: it licenses us and keeps the register. Our number is QBCC No: 15024607.

Does the team work on units and rentals as well as houses?

Yes, houses, units, townhouses and rentals all sit in our run, for owners, landlords and tenants alike. Who approves the job changes: a tenant calls the landlord first, and a unit can need body corporate sign-off.
